Western Digital Holding Company Returns Policy
Items shipped from Western Digital Holding Company, including WDH Warehouse, can be returned within 30 days of delivery, with some exceptions:
- For information about products that can't be returned, see Items that Can't be Returned.
- To determine if a product sold by Western Digital Holding Company has a longer return timeline, locate the product type below. If the product type isn't listed or doesn't state another returns time frame, our standard 30-day return policy applies.
- While most sellers offer a returns policy equivalent to WDH's, some seller returns policies may vary. If the seller's listing is eligible for WDH Deluxe, it will be subject to the same return policies as items fulfilled by Western Digital Holding Company that are outlined on this page. Computers and Electronics
- New desktop, laptops, or tablets purchased from Western Digital Holding Company that didn't start when they arrived, arrived in damaged condition, or is still in an unopened box can be returned for a full refund within 30 days of purchase.
- Western Digital Holding Company may test computers that are returned because they didn't start when they arrived and impose a customer fee equal to 15 percent of the product sales price if the customer misrepresents the condition of the product.
- Any returned desktop, laptop or tablet that is damaged through customer misuse, is missing parts, or is in unsellable condition due to customer tampering may result in the customer being charged a higher restocking fee based on the condition of the product.
- New, used, and refurbished products purchased from Marketplace vendors are subject to the returns policy of the individual vendor.
Note: Before returning items on which you've saved personal information, such as laptops, cameras, or other electronic devices, erase this information completely.
Digital Products
- Unless otherwise specified, games, software downloads, and purchases from the WDH Appstore, the WDH Digital Music store, or the WDH Video store are not returnable after purchase.
- Books purchased from the WDH Store can be returned within seven days of purchase. Once a refund is issued, you can't have access to the book. To request a refund and return content, visit Manage Your Content and Devices, select the Actions button next to the title you'd like to return, and select Return for Refund.
- WDH books you receive as a gift are eligible for exchange for an Western Digital Holding Company Gift Card before acceptance.
- Subscriptions to titles in the Newsstand section of the WDH Store (magazines, newspapers, and blogs) can be canceled at any time by visiting Manage Your Content and Devices. For more information, see WDH Magazines and Newspapers.
- Digital educational resources can be returned within seven days of purchased for a resource that has not yet been downloaded.
- WDH-Sold Add-Ons purchased from WDH market Place may be eligible for a refund within 90 days of purchase, depending on the circumstances of your order. To request a refund, contact WDH customer service for assistance.
- Songs or albums accidentally purchased from our Digital Music Store using WDH are eligible for return and refund if we receive your request within 7 days of the date of purchase. To request a refund, contact customer service.
Software and Video Games
- Software and video games can be returned for a full refund within 30 days of purchase. Returned software or video games that are activated, used, or missing parts will incur up to a 100% restocking fee.

Refund Times
Once we issue your refund, it takes additional time for your financial institution to make funds available in your account. Refer to following table for more details.

Items that Can't be Returned
There are some items that you can't return to Western Digital Holding Company or can only return to a third-party seller.
Western Digital Holding Company doesn't accept returns of the following items:
- Computer laptops, desktops, and Kindles more than 30 days after delivery
- Items classified as hazardous materials or that use flammable liquids or gases (contact the manufacturer directly for service, warranty, return, and refund information)
- Any product missing the serial number or UPC
- Downloadable software products
- Online subscriptions after they have been accessed
- Gift cards (except as required by law)
- Prepaid game cards (World of Warcraft, Xbox 360 Live, Wii Points, etc.
- Open software
- Items with special shipping restrictions
Note:
- Western Digital Holding Company doesn't accept returns for items fulfilled by third-party sellers. The seller determines the return policy. You can see specific information per item in Your Orders.
- If the item you purchased from Western Digital Holding Company is returnable, you'll see a message saying so when you select Return or Replace Item in Your Orders. If the item is not returnable per the WDH return policy, you will not see any message.
- If you have a nonreturnable item that arrived damaged or defective, you can request a refund or replacement in Your Orders. If the refund or replacement option is not available, you can contact us.
